ZIP DRIVE
The Zip drive comes pre-installed on some PowerMate Office 2516 models. The Zip drive
is used like any other drive on the system. Specifications and jumper settings for the Zip
drive are given in Appendix E.
Use the Zip drive and Zip disks for
backing up data
extending the hard disk drive
organizing information
transporting data
sharing data
archiving data.
The Zip drive (see Figure 2-10) has the following controls and indicators:
release button to release the Zip disk from the Zip drive
data lamp that lights indicating drive activity
emergency eject hole in the front panel that contains a lever to eject a Zip disk
manually. The emergency eject is used if the release function is disabled by
software or if a power failure occurs. Insert a straightened paper clip into the hole
to hook the manual eject lever, then pull gently until the disk ejects.
