2-16 Setup and Operation
The system files are restored and the System Recovery Completed screen appears. Remove
the CD and restart the computer.
Perform the following steps after the System Recovery process is complete:
1.
Restore to the hard disk all the data files that were backed up before System
Recovery.
2.
Reinstall any software application program that was added by the user.
CHECKING INSTALLED MEMORY CONFIGURATION
To see how much memory is installed in the system without accessing the system board, or
to verify that the system recognizes all the memory installed on the system board, do the
following:
From the Windows 95 desktop, point to My Computer and click the right
mouse button.
With the left mouse button, click Properties.
The General tab shows the RAM configuration for the system.
As an alternative, click the Performance tab for information about the RAM
configuration.
SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
This section describes the Setup utility program that allows the system configuration
information to be viewed and changed.
NOTE:
The system ships from the factory with
the correct system parameters for the
configuration. Unless setting the time and date,
setting security features, customizing the system,
or adding optional hardware, Setup does not
need to be run.
System configuration information is stored in nonvolatile memory. Nonvolatile memory in
the system is a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) chip backed by a coin-
type battery on the system board. The battery supplies continuous power to the CMOS
memory and maintains configuration information when system power is off.
