User maintenance
ZephIR is designed for autonomous operation over
continuous deployment periods. The system is designed
such that many of the required periodic maintenance
activities may be performed at the deployment site in
order to minimise any disruption in data capture.
User Maintenance
There are several items which you should check on a
regular basis as explained below. Should any replacement
parts be required then a spare parts list can be found later
in the guide. Due to there being no user serviceable parts
inside the ZephIR system, user maintenance is limited to
the following activities, which should be checked at a
minimum interval of 90 days;
•
Visual Check of all system components, including
GRP housings.
•
Check condition of wiper blade and replace as
necessary (see below for instructions on changing the
blade)
•
Ensure Washer system is full
•
Test wash / wipe system and rain sensor
•
Test GSM communications

desiccant (see below for instructions on changing the
desiccant)

Test GSM communications
GSM communications to the system can be checked by
dialling up the system using the ZephIR dial-up application
provided with the system.
The user interface will inform the user if the attempt to
connect succeeded or failed.
Refilling a breather desiccator
Refer to ‘Desiccator replacement’ section of this manual.
Removing the customer interface panel
To access the customer interface panel on the front of the
system, the user should remove the four ‘PinHead’ allen
screws located on the panel.
Removing the upper and lower louvers
Removal of the Louvres on the rear of the system requires
the user to remove the six ‘PinHead’ allen screws on the
upper louvres and the four ‘PinHead’ allen screws on the
lower louvres.
