Optics Pod Configuration
Configuration of the optics pod should not be undertaken
until the electronics pod, battery pod and tripod configuration
has been completed.
1.
Alignment of the Optics Pod
ZephIR electronics pod includes a location ‘dimple’ for the
optics pod at the central point. In addition to this central
location point, an additional reference mark to ensure the
correct orientation of the module is included.
Once the optics pod is placed in the correct orientation,
the unit is secured using six ‘PinHead’ allen screws located
around the circumference of the unit.
2.
System connections
The Optics Pod is connected to the Electronics Pod via six
system interconnections providing power supplies, focus
control and monitoring, control system signals and system
data.
System interconnection is not required at this stage of the
system configuration and is dealt with under the ‘System
Interconnections’ section of this manual.
3.
Optics Pod Configuration complete
On completion of the Optics Pod Configuration, the system
build should be complete as shown in the figure on the
right;
