7.7.3 Engine oil – Sampling and analysis

Preconditions

Engine oil – Sample extraction and

analysis

Connect sampling hose (unit manufacturer

scope of delivery) to sampling neck (ar‐

rowed) with engine running at operating

temperature.

Drain approx. 0.5 liter engine oil into a

clean container.

Using the equipment and chemicals of the

MTU test kit, examine engine oil for:

• Dispersing capacity (spot test);

• Water content.
