8.8.2 Fuel prefilter – Contamination indicator check
DANGER
Components are moving or rotating.
Risk of crushing, danger of parts of the body being caught or pulled in!
• Operate the engine at low load only. Keep clear of the danger zone of the engine.
WARNING
High level of engine noise when the engine is running.
Risk of damage to hearing!
• Wear ear protectors.

With the engine running, read off at pressure gage (1) the vacuum (contamination level) at the filter output
indicated by the red pointer (3).

When the red pointer (3) is continuously in the yellow area (B) at the latest, or at a high flow rate moves into
the red area (C):
a) Switch over to second, clean filter.
b) Replace contaminated filter (→ Page 163).

The black trailing pointer (2) shows the maximum measured vacuum. It can be reset by turning the but-
ton (4).
