Emergency Calling over Public Network
You can make an emergency call when the LEX device is on a public network from a locked phone or
initiate emergency calling through the power button.
Prerequisites:
The following must be configured to dial emergency numbers in a public network:
• A public SIM card must be installed in the device to enable preset emergency numbers stored on
the card.
• Preconfigure
EMERGENCY
to initiate an emergency phone call only, if location is available send an
SMS message, initiate a phone call and SMS, or no action at all. See

• You can use the PSX Push-to-Talk (PTT) application to manage Emergency calls. Contact your
device technician for more information.
Emergency numbers vary by country. The device must be switched to public mode to use the
emergency numbers for your country on the public SIM. The pre-programmed emergency numbers
may not work in all locations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot be placed due to network,
environmental, or interference issues. For additional information, contact your system administrator.
