Use a head halter. Apply the traction cord to the head halter through the
pulley assembly at the head end of the table (see Figure 41). Using
sandbags, apply the desired amount of weight on a weight carrier at the
head end of the table.

OPTION #4
Use gardner wells tongs applied to the patient’s skull in accordance with
the manufacturers instructions. Apply traction cord to the tongs through
the pulley assembly at the head end of the table. Using sandbags, apply
the desired amount of weight on a weight carrier at the head end of the
table.
OPTION #5
If the patient is fitted with a cervical halo, it is possible to attach some
halos directly to the Mizuho OSI Cervical Management Base Unit (see
Figure 42). Consult with the halo manufacturer for the availability and use
of halo adapters.
