About IC chip
• The IC chip has information of ink color, remaining amount of ink, expiration data, etc.
When setting the ink bottle, insert the IC chip packed with the ink bottle into the IC chip inserting port
attached with the ink cover.
• If an IC chip that is not paired with the ink bottle is inserted, ink charging is not possible.
• The mark indicating color information is pasted on the IC chip.
How to check the charge status
The state of the ink bottle lamp indicates the charge status.
When adding two 1 liter ink bottles
You can manage two liters of ink by charging the IC chip included with each ink bottle. (2 IC chips)
Pay careful attention to the following 2 points to accurately manage the amount of remaining
ink.
• When adding ink, add all of the ink inside the ink bottle.
(The volume of ink recorded on the IC chip included with a refill ink bottle is 1 liter. If ink remains in the
bottle after adding ink, there will be a difference between the volume of ink managed by the printer
and the actual volume of ink in the external supply unit.)
• Add ink immediately after IC chip charging.
(After charging, do not wait before adding the ink. Otherwise, it will not be possible to accurately
manage the ink information.)
