4. Checking after adjustment
A check is carried out after adjusting the valve
opening pressure. To do this, proceed as in
Point 2. If the measured pressure does not
match the required pressure level, the adjust-
ment process should be repeated. To do this,
start again at Point 3.
NOTE
If the valve setting cannot be checked con-
clusively using the
Verification Tool
or the
Verification Compass
, we recommend carry-
ing out a check using an imaging method.
3.04.06 CLEANING RECOMMENDATION
FOR NON-STERILISABLE
proGAV Tools
NOTE
The
proGAV Tools
are made from thermola-
bile components that are sensitive to heat
and moisture as well as chemically reactive.
Do not immerse the
proGAV Tools
in clean-
ing solutions or allow liquids to enter the
housing, as moisture, corrosion and impuri-
ties could impair proper functioning.
Surface contamination on the
proGAV Tools
should always be removed immediately after
use by wiping with alcohol-based cleaning
agents (minimum 75% alcohol).
The exposure time should be at least 60 sec-
onds and should be adapted to the degree of
contamination. The instruments should then be
wiped with a dry cloth.
The following cleaning methods are not suitable
for processing the
proGAV Tools
(except for
the Checkmate): Irradiation, ultrasound, steril-
isation, mechanical processing, immersion in
cleaning fluids.
3.04.07 CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
THE
proGAV Checkmate
Avoid damaging the product due to unsuit-
able cleaning agents/disinfectants and/or
too high temperatures!
Use
cleaning
agents/disinfectants
approved for surgical steels in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Observe specifications regarding concen-
tration, temperature and contact time.
Do not exceed the maximum permitted
cleaning temperature of 55 °C.
Perform ultrasonic cleaning:
as an effective mechanical support for
manual cleaning/disinfection.
for precleaning products with dried
residues prior to mechanical clean-
ing/disinfection.
as integral mechanical support during
mechanical cleaning/disinfection.
for the subsequent cleaning of prod-
ucts with residues still present after
mechanical cleaning/disinfection.
Provided the instruments can be fas-
tened securely or safely for cleaning
in machines or on storage aids, clean
and disinfect the instruments mechan-
ically.
Manual cleaning/disinfection
Check visible surfaces for residues after
manual cleaning/disinfection.
If necessary, repeat the cleaning process.
Mechanical cleaning/disinfection
Place product on suitable screen basket.
