proGAV Adjustment Tool
The
proGAV Adjustment Tool
(Fig. 4) is used to
set the valve pressure level. The desired pres-
sure level is selected by turning the adjusting
wheel (1); the pressure level appears on the
display window (2). The instrument is centred
over the valve. Pressing the release button (3)
presses the adjustment tip (4) out of the base,
unlocks the rotor in the valve and sets the valve
opening pressure. The marking (5) on the
pro-
GAV Adjustment Tool
must face the proximal
catheter (leading to the ventricle) when being
placed on the valve.

The pressure level can also be changed using
the
proGAV Adjustment Disc
(Fig. 5). The
pro-
GAV Adjustment Disc
is centred over the valve.
When doing so, the desired pressure level must
point in the direction of the
Ventricular Catheter
.
Slightly pressing the
proGAV Adjustment Disc
onto the valve releases the brake and changes
the
proGAV
pressure level. A longer tip can be
used for thicker skin.
