2.00 DESCRIPTION OF THE
proGAV Tools
2.01 MEDICAL PURPOSE
The
proGAV Tools
are used to adjust and check
the adjustable pressure levels of the
proGAV
and
proGAV 2.0
valves.
2.02 CLINICAL USE
Treatment options
Identifying the pressure level of the dif-
ferential pressure unit of the
proGAV
and
proGAV 2.0
valves
Checking the pressure level without diag-
nostic procedures such as X-rays
Setting the pressure level without invasive
procedures
2.03 INDICATIONS
proGAV Tools
are used for the following indica-
tions:
Treatment of hydrocephalus
2.04 CONTRAINDICATIONS
The following contraindications apply to the
proGAV Tools
:
Intolerance to materials of the instruments
2.05 INTENDED PATIENT GROUPS
Patients who are treated with a CSF-draining
Shunt System with an adjustable
proGAV
or
proGAV 2.0
valve on account of their clinical
picture.
2.06 INTENDED USERS
In order to avoid risks due to false diagnoses,
incorrect treatments and delays, the product
must only be used by users with the following
qualifications:
Medical specialists, e.g. neurosurgeons
Knowledge about the function and proper
use of the product
Successful participation in product training
