DGC 6xxx
Remedy:
Software update to ID 2271 or higher.
Note:
After the software has been updated, the MDU will no longer be able to be
used. However, the appliance will still be fully functional.
3.4
No Steam after Bake Function
Symptom:
After using a Bake function, no steam is produced in the next steam
operation.
Cause:
If a Bake function is selected, followed by a steam cooking process, the
appliance must cool down between the two processes. The cooldown
process requires an open door and a switched-on convection fan. When a
temperature of 176°F is reached in the oven cavity, the convection fan is
switched off and the door must be closed. The steam cooking process begins
automatically. The cavity walls are still very warm and the cavity heats up
again very quickly. Therefore, very little steam will stream into the cavity.
Remedy:
Let the cavity cool down longer.
3.5
Wireless Roast Probe Malfunctioning
Symptom:
General malfunctioning in wireless roast probe system without any known
cause.
Cause:
For an optimal signal between the antenna and wireless roast probe, the
impedance of the oven cavity is very important. The concept of impedance
refers to how well or how poorly the oven cavity “reflects” the electronic's
signal. Any modification to the oven cavity will affect how the signal is
reflected back to the electronic.
The top heating element is used for antenna “adjustment” and improving the
impedance of the oven cavity. Any change to the top heating element will
affect the signal strength. For this reason, it is very important to ensure that
the various interior components in the oven cavity, the top heating element,
the antenna and all wiring are secured correctly. Any mechanical deformities
in the top heating element can also disrupt the signal.
Remedy:
1. Make sure that the interior components are secured correctly in the oven
cavity.
2. Make sure that the top heating element is secured correctly.
3. Make sure that the antenna for the wireless roast probe is secured
correctly.
