Microtronix Access User Guide
4.4 Authentication
4.4.1 RADIUS Authentication
To enable authentication through a RADIUS server, select the “Use RADIUS for Authentication” box,
and enter the RADIUS server parameters in the provided fields.
4.4.1.1 RADIUS Parameters
Authentication Server:
Enter the server address. To avoid a DNS query it is recommended
that an IP address is used instead of a hostname.
Shared Secret:
Enter the shared secret that the RADIUS server will use to validate and encrypt
communication between the client and the server. Whitespace characters in the shared secret
are not supported by the RADIUS client.
4.4.2 Web Administration
To change web administration user credentials, select the “Change Web Admin Credentials” box and
enter the desired username and password in the provided fields.
4.4.2.1 Web Admin Parameters
Username:
Enter the desired web admin username. Only one username is supported, so if the
username is changed then the old username cannot be used to authenticate.
New Password:
Enter a password to be used for authentication to the secure web site hosted
by the Access Gateway. There is a limit of 8 characters due to the encryption method used by
the web server, but at least 6 characters are recommended.
New Password (re-enter):
Enter the new password a second time for validation.
