SECTION 3 : HOIST PARAMETERS
33
CAUTION
ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE SERVICE TOP
LIMIT SWITCH IS CORRECTLY SET TO ALLOW
FOR SUFFICIENT STOPPING CLEARANCE
FROM THE SERVICE TOP LIMIT SWITCH TO
THE ULTIMATE LIMIT SWITCH. THE WORST
CASE SETTING WOULD BE WHEN HOIST
PLUGGING IS ACTIVE (=YES) AND THE HOOK
IS EMPTY.

Hoist plugging V
Hoist plugging voltage

50%
This parameter is only active if parameter 7 “Hoist plugging” = Yes (active).
Hoists with high inertia require assistance during retardation by applying braking torque. The
percentage of Hoist plugging voltage applied controls the amount of counter torque used to reduce the
speed of the drum during hoist deceleration.
This retardation function is only visible when moving the master controller to a slower hoisting speed or
to neutral and if the inertia of the hoist is of such magnitude that the actual motor speed exceeds the
software generated motor_speed_ramp_limit. Practically it means that light loads in hoisting are
plugged and most heavy loads are not.
