Revision 8.6
SECTION 6 : OPERATION OF CONTROL PANEL
94
Check that all currents read 0 Amps
If this is the case, then insert the C.T.’s plug once again and check if the display remains
reading 0 Amps.
By following this procedure it is possible to identify which is the part of the current measurement
circuit which is faulty, proceed to replace the faulty part.
3. Control Card voltage reference to the Phase Shifter card.
This test pulses the voltage reference to maximum (between 9 and 10V) for a short period of 100ms
and then lowers it to its minimum level of approximately 3,9V. In the event that this voltage is out of
its expected boundaries a “Power ON test” fault is logged, replace the Control card if this fault
remains active.
The directional contactors and the Phase Shifter enable line will remain de-energised during this
test.
Note: During Power ON test further tests are performed, which in the event of a failure, they will be
displaying their specific code.
These tests are:
- watchdog test (code 101)
- CPU brownout test (code 102)
- CPU loss of messages (code 103)
The tests above when generating a fault code, indicate that there was a previous fault condition that
caused a CPU reset.
A reset can occur when:
The software does not update the watchdog timer
The power supply to the microcontroller has dropped below the brownout voltage threshold.
The real-time operating system is overloaded (lost message)
The fault cannot be logged when the reset occurs as the program is unable to execute correctly
thus requiring the reset.
The cause of the reset is logged when the controller restarts.
The logging of the reset condition is independent of the results of the tests performed in steps 1, 2,
and 3 of the Power ON test.
6.8.18 Brake release (Hoist applications only)
During start up of any new Hoisting or Lowering cycle the THYROMAT performs several tests to ensure
that all 3 currents and the rotor feedback are in order before the brakes can be released.
