an oblique position, thus facilitating the fl ow of soil under the action
of the level
ling roller.
4.11 TINES
The tines on the machine are suitable for work in soil of a normal
conformation.
These are made of optimum quality steel and the heat treatments
to which they are subjected ensure an extremely tough and wear-
resistant product.
Check their wear and condition each day.
If they should accidentally bend during work (or break), they must
be immediately replaced.
The new tine must be mounted in the identical position to the
damaged one. If several tines must be replaced, it is advisable
to demount and remount one tine at a time in order to prevent
positioning errors.
The cutting side of the tines must always be set in the turning
direction of the rotor (fi g.33).
fi g.33 shows the correct position of the tine cutting edge.
WARNING
It is essential to strictly comply with the indicated assembly
layout (
fi
g.36) if one or more of the knife supports must be
replaced.
JUMBO RAPIDO Version:
The machine can be fi tted with One-way
Quick Release knives
,
recommended for all soils, even on hard ground, or
two-way
knives:
Turning normally
for a good job on hard ground (1 fi g.33).
Turning in reverse
to work the soil after ploughing (2 fi g.33).
Check their wear and condition each day. If they should accidentally
bend during work (or break), they must be immediately replaced.
It is very easy to replace damaged or worn blades as, thanks to the
quick release system, they can be changed using a special wrench
alone (Code 36100386).
This extremely quick operation allows the operator to open the
release system by inserting the wrench into the pin hole.
Turn the wrench through 180° to take out the tine locking pin (fi g.34),
remove the worn or damaged tines, fi t new ones in their place then
turn the wrench through 180° in the anti-clockwise direction to insert
the pin and fi x the new tines in place (fi g.35).
The cutting side of the tines must always be set in the turning
direction of the rotor (fi g.37).
fi g.38 shows the correct position of the tine cutting edge.
