Adjusting the rated capacity limiter correctly
Some of the values required for monitoring are
automatically acquired and some values will need
to be entered by you. The distribution of the val-
ues depends on the version of the rated capacity
limiter.
Always enter these values according to the actual
rigging mode of the truck crane and also check
the automatically acquired values!
If a wrong entry is made, the maximum load
calculated by the rated capacity limiter will not
correspond to the actual permissible lifting
capacity! Overloading and accidents will
certainly be the result!
Observe the indications
During crane operation, you are constantly provided with information on the
current crane operation at the rated capacity limiter.
If there is a risk that the maximum permissible lifting capacity will be exceeded,
there is first an early warning and then the crane movements leading into the
shutdown range are stopped.
The rated capacity limiter does not replace safety-conscious working!
Note that even when the rated capacity limiter is switched on, the duty of super-
vision lies with you as the crane operator. Never move deliberately into a shut-
down range. That could abruptly stop crane movements and cause damage to
the truck crane.
If possible, interrupt crane operation in the event of an early warning and obtain
an overview of whether the current lifting operation can be completed before a
shutdown occurs. If necessary, you must set down the load and repeat the lifting
operation in another rigging mode or with another telescope status. Do not under
any circumstances override the rated capacity limiter.
If your truck crane is equipped with rated capacity limiter indicators outside the
crane cab, explain the meaning to all persons involved in crane operation;
