Only use parts in perfect working order
•
Never use damaged load-bearing equipment/lifting tackle. Damaged load-
bearing equipment/lifting tackle must be replaced and marked as not fit for use.

Modification
Under no circumstances may changes or repairs, e.g. by welding, be carried out
on load-bearing equipment/lifting tackle. The use of repaired or modified load-
bearing equipment/lifting tackle is not permitted.
4.3.2
Information on slinging
Determine the weight and, if necessary, the centre of gravity of the load before
slinging the load. Bear in mind that the weights of the hook blocks, ropes, chains,
crossheads or other lifting tackle need to be added to the weight of the load. The
lifting capacity of your truck crane must be sufficient to lift the total load.
Make sure that the hook block is equipped with a
fail-safe device in perfect working order. Only use
suitable, sufficiently load-bearing and undam-
aged lifting tackle to sling the load.
Never use the hoist rope to fasten the load.
Align the main boom so that the hoist rope is
always suspended vertically over the load.
