Driving with a rigged truck crane
Only drive with rigged truck crane if this is explicitly permitted in the
supplied
operating manual
!
You must know the load-bearing capacity of the route and the truck crane axle
loads. The conditions are listed in the
operating manual
that you must comply with
if you want to drive with a rigged truck crane (the permissible rigging modes and
the resulting axle loads). Only drive if the route is free of slopes in the longitudinal
and transverse directions. When driving with rigged truck crane, the risk of over-
turning is particularly high!
Check the tyre pressure with cold tyres before driving. The tyres will heat up while
driving and the tyre pressure will increase. Do not release the increased air pres-
sure from tyres that have become hot during driving. If the tyre pressure is too
low, the tyres will be extremely strained and the truck crane could overturn.
To reduce the risk of overturning, you must ex-
tend the outrigger before driving.
Extend all outrigger beams to the maximum out-
rigger span according to the space conditions.
Extend all outrigger cylinders until the outrigger
pads are just above the ground.
Check the wind speed before and while driving
the rigged truck crane. You may only drive the
truck crane if the permissible wind speed is not
exceeded.
The same maximum permissible wind speeds for
crane operation apply to driving the rigged truck
crane;

When driving the rigged truck crane, you must have someone guide you.
Bear in mind that the steering behaviour of your truck crane will change.
Avoid abrupt starting and sudden braking. You may only drive at the prescribed
speed;

. While driving, make sure that the outrigger
or any other part of the truck crane does not get caught on an obstacle. Select a
turning radius that is as large as possible if you have to drive through a curve.
