Depth-of-Field Preview Button
When the Depth-of-Field Preview Button is pressed, the DOF can be observed by
looking through the viewfinder.
1. Focus the lens.
2. Press the Depth-of-Field Preview Button.
When using auto focus, the aperture is set
to the displayed aperture while the button
is pressed and the focus is locked.
Infrared Photography
When using infrared film, the distance at which the subject is in focus is slightly different
than when using non-infrared film.
Infrared light has a longer wavelength than visible light, so the image converges further
back than non-infrared film. This makes a focus adjustment necessary when using
infrared film, as described below:
1. Focus as usual, and then find the point on the Distance Scale opposite the
white Index Mark.
2. Set the Focus Mode Selector to "M" (Manual Focus Mode), and then turn the
Focusing Ring clockwise and set the Distance Scale to the Infrared Mark.
You cannot photograph in AE Mode when using infrared film.
Flash Photography
In addition to its standard flash sync system, the Mamiya 645 AF
D
features TTL (through-the-lens),
off-the-film (OTF) electronic flash metering.
A flash sensor located inside the camera body reads the flash output reflected off the film's surface
at the moment of exposure. The sensor is connected via the camera's dedicated hotshoe to a shoe
or handle-mount style Metz flash unit via a Metz SCA 3952 TTL Adapter.
The maximum sync speed is 1/125 sec., making daytime synchronization possible.
