4. Set the Exposure Metering Mode Selector Lever to "A-S"
(Average-Spot Auto
Switching).
There are three exposure metering modes: "A"
where the average light from the entire frame is
measured with emphasis on the center of the frame,
"S" in which the light in a spot at the center of the
frame is measured
.
and "A-S" where metering auto-
matically switches between "A" and "S" Modes de-
pending on the difference of the brightness measured
in the two modes and set
s
the distribution ratio of the
exposure
metering modes to an intermediate range.
5. Focus.
a) Aim the camera fo that the subject is within the Focus Frame
.
b) Depress the Shutter Release Button halfway. The
focus will be set automatically.
When the Focus Mark lights, the picture is
in focus ed. Press the Shutter Release Button
to make the exposure.
When the outoffocus marks are flashing,
the picture is not focused and the shutter cannot
be released.
Press the Shutter Release Button halfway again
to readjust the focus, or move the camera to change
the position of the Focus Frame.
When the camera is operated in Auto Focus Mode with
lenses not equipped with the Auto Focus Mode Selector
Lever, the 45, 55 and 80mm, the lenses will automatically
turn their Focusing Rings to adjust focus. Do not touch
their Focus Rings.
