Command:
>set spantree filter
Syntax:
set spantree filter setting
Explanation:
This command can enable or disable the BPDU filtering feature on Port Fast ports. For Port
Fast enabled ports, configuration BPDU packets will be discarded.
Parameters:
setting
on - enable the BPDU filtering feature on Port Fast ports. (This is the
default
setting)
off - disable the BPDU filtering feature on Port Fast ports.
Command:
>set spantree hello
Syntax:
set spantree hello time
Explanation:
This command sets how often (in seconds) the root bridge sends out BPDU hello
messages. At any instant in STP/RSTP, one bridge is the root bridge. The root bridge
generates a hello message periodically. All other network bridges wait for hello messages. If
a bridge does not get a hello message in the expected time, it presumes network
malfunctions and notifies other bridges that the network transmission paths must be
reconfigured. When this device is the root bridge, all other bridges use this device's hello
time value.
Parameters:
time
the time interval for the root bridge sends out BPDU hello messages. The
possible value is 1 to 10. The default value is 2 seconds
Note
: A hello time value that is too low results in many BPDU hello messages being sent
over the network, possibly creating excessive traffic on the network. A value that is too
high slows the response to network topology changes. The default value of 2 seconds
is recommended in 802.1d/802.1w. If you change this value, the following relationship
must be obeyed: Bridge_Max_Age >= 2 x (Bridge_Hell 1.0 seconds)
Command:
>set spantree link-type
Syntax:
set spantree link-type port type
Explanation:
This command is used to indicate type of link attached to this interface. The link type
attached to this interface, can be a point-to-point link or more than one bridges connected.
If not sure, user can make link type as auto, then device will auto detect the interface type.
If link type is point-to-point, port is moved directly to the Forwarding state without waiting for
the standard forwarding-time delay. This is only RSTP feature, not STP.
Parameters:
port
identifies the bridge port by name. (LAN1, WAN1, PVC1 ~ PVC10)
type
p-to-p – a connection to exactly one other bridge
shared – a connection to two or more bridges (This is the default setting)
auto – the device automatically determines if the interface is attached to a point-
to-point link or to shared media
Command:
>set spantree port_prior
Syntax:
set spantree port_prior port priority
Explanation:
sets the STP/RSTP port priority parameter. If a device has two ports attached to the same
subnet, only one port is activated at a time. The port priority parameter allows you to select
which port has priority to be activated
Parameters:
port
identifies the bridge port by name. (LAN1, WAN1, PVC1 ~ PVC10)
priority
can be set from 0 to 255. The default value is 128.
Command:
>set spantree state
Syntax:
set spantree state setting
Explanation:
This command can enable or disable the STP/RSTP service.
Parameters:
setting
on - enable the spanning tree service. (This is the default setting)
off - disable the spanning tree service.
