9.3.1 Changing the plug-in nozzle SMBM-X

•
Interrupt the oil feed to the flow limiter (

).
•
Loosen the plug screw (

) using a hexagon socket screw key
(WAF 12) and remove it together with the packing ring
(2a
).
•
Remove the complete control piston (
3
) from the flow limiter
housing (
1
).
•
Pull the pressure spring (
5
) out of the control piston (
3
).
NOTE
A brass fitting wedge (never use a hard object such as a
screwdriver) should be used to subsequently help press the
plug-in nozzle out of the control piston.
•
Place the fitting wedge between control piston (
3
) and plug-in
nozzle (
4
) and carefully press out the old plug-in nozzle (
4
)
with the packing ring (
4a
).
NOTE
A brass fitting mandrel (ø 10 mm) (never use a hard object
such as a screwdriver) should be used to subsequently help
press the plug-in nozzle into the control piston. For plug-in
nozzle selection, see Chapter 4.6 .
•
Use the fitting mandrel to press the new plug-in nozzle (

)
and packing ring (
4a
) into the bore of the control piston (
3
)
without skewing.
•
Insert the pressure spring (
5
) into the control piston (
3
).
•
Carefully insert the complete control piston (
3
) back into the
flow limiter housing (
1
) without skewing.
•
Check the ease of movement of the control piston (
3
) by
applying repeated pressure against the spring force.
•
Place stop screw (
2
) with new packing ring (
2a
) on the thread
of the flow limiter housing (
1
) and tighten with hexagon
socket screw key – torque 15 ± 1 Nm.
•
Open the oil feed to the flow limiter.
