6.8 Electrical connection of signal
transmitter 24-1072-2125
6.8.1 General information
<
DANGER
Excessive switching voltage hazard
Signal transmitters may be used only with an
isolating amplifier. For the purpose of the
intrinsically safe ignition protection rating "i," the
signal transmitters are passive construction
elements. The following permitted maximum
values must not be exceeded:
U
I
= 30 V
P
I
= 1 W
I
I
= 100 mA
Signal transmitter 24-1072-2125 may only be installed,
connected, and commissioned by technical personnel. The
technical personnel must have detailed knowledge of the
various ignition protection ratings and the rules and regulations
for devices and equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The applicable national regulations and rules must be observed.
The signal transmitter can be used to monitor the volumetric
flow within an ATEX-compliant flow limiter. The signal
transmitter with integrated floating contact can be used as
simple electrical equipment in accordance with DIN EN 60079-
11, Para. 5.7, in intrinsically safe electrical circuits. The values
given for the signal transmitter in the "Technical data" chapter
must be observed.
The signal transmitter 24-1072-2125 has three switch
settings. The switch is closed in normal operation, meaning the
normal position =
go position
(
8
).
The switch opens in case of a clogged nozzle
switch position
(
7
) or a drop in nominal volumetric flow to approx. 70%
switch
position
(
9
) (see Fig. 34).
The connection is made using a 4-pin plug. The conductor
cross-section of the lines may not exceed a maximum of 0.75
mm
2
.
6.8.2 Connection, signal transmitter
24-1072-2125 (connection type XS)
See Figure 34 to Figure 36
1.
Loosen the entire cable socket (
1
) from the signal transmitter
(
2
).
2.
Unscrew the connection socket (
3
), housing (
4
) and cable
gland (
5
) with conical ring (
6
) out of the cable socket (
1
).
NOTE
Observe the maximum clamping limit for the terminal
clamps ("Technical data" chapter)! Use a customer-provided
ATEX connection cable with suitable diameter.
3.
Pull the customer-provided ATEX connection cable through
the cable gland (
5
), conical ring (
6
) and housing (
4
).
