3.18 Control elements (supplement)
Important note!
The operating instructions below are valid only for
the instrument Leica CM 3050 S. They supplement
chapter 7.5 of the standard Leica CM3050
instruction manual, explaining the new / additional
functions of the Leica CM3050 S unit. All references
to figures, page numbers and / or headings relate to
the instruction manual version 1.3-07/96.
1. Mains switch
The instrument is no longer switched on/off via the
mains switch shown in Fig. 21.1 (which has been
eliminated in the new Leica CM3050 S) but via
switch (1), which combines the function of ON/OFF
switch and automatic cutout for the instrument.

2. Control panel 1
Control panel 1 as shown in Fig. 22.1 will not be
modified as far as shape and key functions are
concerned. New is the instrument name
LEICA
CM3050 S , as well as a number of new display
indications.
3. Control panel 2
Module B of control panel 2 shown in Fig. 24.1 has
been changed.
Modules A and C remain the same, i.e. are identical
with those in the Leica CM 3050 unit.
Module B has been modified as follows:
1. Trimming
The button has been replaced by the
button.
To switch on press , TRIM (2) illuminates.
The illuminated bar (3) indicates the selected
trimming thickness in µm.
2. Selection keys
The arrow buttons used in the Leica CM3050 have
been replaced by the and buttons.
Pressing decreases the selected value (see
display indication), pressing increases the
selected value.
