3.18 Control elements (supplement)
Upper line:
Immediately after switching on, the instrument
name CM3050 S and the installed software version
are displayed for a short time.
Lower line:
„MOT“ for „motorized sectioning on“ is not
displayed any longer. The 8 digits on the right of the
lower line (see marked area) are now used to
display a number of additional parameters.
All other settings shown in Fig. 23.1 and 23.2 remain
the same.
By pressing a number of parameters are
displayed one after another in the lower line
(sequence as shown on the left). By pressing
the same sequence of parameters is shown,
however in reverse order.
1. Section thickness
Display of selected section thickness in µm. Select
section thickness with / buttons of control
panel 2 while sectioning mode is activated
(Indication TRIM --> OFF).
2. Section counter
Counts the sections carried out.
Press to set back to „0“.
3. Section thickness totalizer
Displays the total thickness of all sections carried
out. Indication in µm.
Press to set back to „0“.
4. Preset Counter
To carry out a preselected number of sections.
When sectioning is started, the preset counter
starts counting backwards. When dn=000 is
reached, sectioning in continuous mode stops.
To set back to the preselected value, press button
and simultaneously.
Press to set back to „0“.
The preset counter can be deactivated. To activate,
display 'preset counter' pressing the menu button
(see point 4) then press to activate.
Prior to starting the preset counter, a value (= pre-
selection of number of sections) must be entered.
