5. When the following message appears, switch off the instrument with the ON/Off switch at the
rear panel of the instrument.
Caution
The HistoCore PEARL is to be switched off completely in this way only. Otherwise, severe damage to
the instrument's hardware and loss of data can occur.
Note
When the instrument is switched off by directly turning off the ON/OFF switch, the alarm will be
triggered.
4.10 Moving the instrument
Caution
Before moving, switch off the instrument.
Before moving the instrument, the power cord must be disconnected from the power supply and the
instrument is cooled down.
Before moving the instrument, make sure that no paraffin is in paraffin baths or the paraffin drip tray, and
the paraffin oven cover is closed to protect paraffin baths from dropping during transportation. Or remove
the paraffin baths from the instrument. The retort lid must be sealed as well.
To avoid dropping of the filled reagent bottles and damage to the reagent bottles or connectors, the
reagent bottles must be empty or removed while moving.
Moving the instrument
1. Release the casters of the instrument.
2. Hold the handles at the rear panel and push the instrument to its new location.
3. Lock the casters after the instrument has reached the final position.
