4.4.2 The retort
Open/Close the retort
• Turn the handle as shown in the below figure ( → "Fig. 8") and lift here ( → "Fig. 8- 1 ") to open the retort.
Do not try to pry the handle.
• To seal the retort, push the handle back to the place with strength.

The open/close status of the retort is displayed on the screen ( → P. 74 – Retort status) .
Caution
Because of the hot surface, wear chemical protective clothing, protective goggles, respirator, rubber
gloves and all other necessary personal protective equipment, and keep your distance when opening
the retort lid, particularly if the reagents are heated. Also avoid breathing in the vapors.
Level sensor and retort sieve

There is a level sensor ( → "Fig. 9- 1 ") located at the right side wall of the retort. It prevents the retort from
being overfilled or insufficiently filled.
There is a retort sieve
( → "Fig. 9- 2 ") at the bottom of the retort. Install the sieve by inserting and rotating
it clockwise.
