3-8 TONGUE ASSEMBLY - 10’ MODEL
a. From the roller gang bar center line marked
in Section 3-4.1b., measure and mark 19” on
each side (See Figure 3-9) . Attach pull straps
using 3/4” x 6-1/2” bolts, lockwashers, and
nuts. Tighten all hardware.
b. Attach the tongue to pull straps using two 1”
x 6-27/64” pins and klip rings (See Figure
3-10) . Mount the shear plate to the transport
leveler mounting using a 1” x 5-7/8” pin and
klip rings and a 1/2” x 5-1/2” bolt, lockwasher,
and nut. This bolt will not need to be torqued
higher than 20 ft.-lbs.
c. Add springs using 1” x 5-7/8” pin and klip
rings to connect and 1” x 6-27/32” pin and klip
rings to slide.
d. Loosen the four front leveler mount bolts
holding slide to tongue weldment and allow
the front of the tongue to touch the floor. Re-
tighten these bolts to 100 ft.-lbs. of torque. To
level the machine in transport position,
see
Section 4-8.
e. Mount the hose carrier on the tongue.
