OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The Model 3210 Series Mulcher is a rolling
tillage tool designed to achieve the following:
•
Mix the soil.
•
Eliminate air pockets.
•
Destroy small weeds.
•
Level the seed bed.
•
Raise moisture to the upper soil level for
consistent seed germination.
•
Roll a small soil particle bed for maximum
seed germination.
•
Retain moisture at the seed level by placing
a firm particle blanket at the upper level.
•
Reduce evaporation by controlling the sur-
face area of the soil which is exposed.
•
Assist wind erosion control with a firmed sur-
face.
•
Assist water erosion control by placing end-
less small grooves and miniature pockets in
the surface which prevent run-off and aid in
even water penetration into the soil.
These objectives are often accomplished by
running the spring tines at less than full rotational
depth. Full depth is usually not necessary. An
added benefit of less fuel consumption is realized
when the tines are run shallow. A cylinder stop or
stroke control cylinder is recommended to maintain
working depth. The Model 3210 is available in 10’,
12’, 13’, 14’, 15’, and 18’ wide models.
