Clutch Installation
Refer to Figure 7-13:
1.
To prevent accidental start, unplug the coil wires on
both spark plugs prior to the installation of the clutch.
2.
Insure the pump drive pulley is fully seated against
the engine output shaft stop and that the key is flush
with the bottom of the pulley. A light coat of anti-seize
may be applied to the engine output shaft to ease
future disassembly.
3.
Align and install the clutch with the drive pulley to the
bottom and the stop rotation slot aligned to the front.
Install the clutch stop rotation bracket to prevent
turning of the clutch.
Refer to Figure 7-14:
4.
Install the clutch retaining bolt with both the flat
washer and lock washer thought the clutch hub.
Apply a small amount of blue loc-tite to the end of the
bolt threads prior to installation.
5.
Tighten the clutch retaining bolt to 50 ft/lbs.
6.
Install belt on clutch ensuring correct belt routing per
“Deck Drive Belt Removal & Installation” on page
64.
Refer to Figure 7-15:
7.
Tighten belt by rotating the over center latch
assembly clockwise until the latch assembly
engages. Secure the over center latch with the latch
pin.
8.
Route and connect the clutch harness pig tail to the
engine wiring harness. Secure wiring with zip ties as
needed to prevent damage from rotation.
9.
Reinstall the coil wires on both spark plugs and test
the system for correct operation.
