Fuel Valve and Hose Removal
Refer to Figure 5-1:
1.
Chock wheels to secure mower and prevent
movement while repairs are made.
2.
Disconnect battery to prevent accidental shock. See
“Battery Assembly Removal” on page 22.
3.
For ease of access, remove the seat assembly.
See“Seat and Latch Removal” on page 13.
4.
Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter and allow
the tanks to empty into an appropriate waste fuel
container. It will be necessary to lower the fuel line
below the level of the fuel tanks to drain them.

Remove fuel caps from tanks and insure that both
tanks are fully empty and well ventilated. For best
ventilation, allow the tanks to set overnight if possible
to allow excess fuel to evaporate.

Cut and remove all the plastic zip ties securing the
fuel line to the frame and steering components.

7.
With pliers pinch and hold the fuel line hose clamps
that secure the fuel hoses to the valve block and slide
them away from the valve block. Remove the hoses
from the valve block.
8.
While holding the valve block, loosen the jam nut
securing the fuel valve. Remove the jam nut retaining
washer from the valve handle and pull the valve block
back while twisting upward to pull the handle through
the pedestal base.
9.
With pliers pinch and hold the fuel line hose clamps
that secure the fuel hoses to the fuel tanks and slid
them away from the fuel tank outlets. Remove the
fuel lines from the fuel tank outlets.
