Safety chain for USA
and Canada
Attach the safety chain between the tractor and the machine.
Choose an appropriate length of the chain so that it does not
negatively affect the movement of the drawbar and hang too low.
Observe the national regulations concerning the length and the
attachment of safety chains.
P.T.O. shaft
Installation of P.T.O.

Make sure that you install the P.T.O. shaft in the correct position.
Check to see if it is necessary to shorten the P.T.O. shaft prior to
installing it.
Shorten the P.T.O. shaft if necessary.

Check to see that the tractor's P.T.O. socket is cleaned and
lubricated.
Install the P.T.O. shaft between the tractor and the machine.

A wide-angle joint on the P.T.O. shaft (if there is one), must be
installed at the tractor's P.T.O. socket.
Make sure that the P.T.O. shaft is fastened to both the tractor and
to the machine.
Make sure that the protective pipes are secured with chains so that
they can not rotate along with the shaft.

Safety chain
When driving on public roads, the machine must always be
secured with a safety chain between the tractor and the machine.
Use a safety chain with a reinforcement suited to at least the total
weight of the machine.
If the machine should accidentally become detached, this could
cause serious injury or death.

Initial connection of the machine
Exercise caution when a new machine is connected for the first
time. Make sure that all safety instructions are complied with.
Following the safety instructions will increase your personal
safety.
Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious
injuries and accidents.
