Preferences
The Preferences window can be opened by selecting “Preferences…” from the Edit
menu (as described on page 113).
When you make a change in the Preferences window, it does not take effect
immediately. After you have set the preferences as desired, press the window’s
“Save” button to apply the changes.
There is no need to close the Preferences window; if you wish, you can leave it open
all the time.
General tab
The General tab contains parameters for controlling what the OASYS PCI Editor
does at start-up, the appearances of the Catalog and Resource Monitor windows,
the location of the OASYS PCI folder, the way that Multis are downloaded to the
DSPs, and the Host Processing rates. All of these parameters are described in detail
below.
On Start Up
Don’t Open or Create a Multi.
When the OASYS PCI Editor starts up, no Multi
will be opened; you will need to create a new one or open one manually.
Create New Multi.
This automatically creates a new Multi when the OASYS PCI
Editor is opened.
Open a Multi.
When the OASYS PCI Editor starts up, an Open dialog will appear,
allowing you to select a Multi to open.
Connect to Engine
On, Off.
This automatically connects the OASYS PCI Editor to the OASYS PCI
Engine. The two must be connected in order to play and process sounds in the
OASYS PCI Editor. The default is On.
Catalog Window
Style (MacOS)
Outline.
This shows the
fi
les in the style of the MacOS Finder window. Folders are
shown with arrows to the left of their name; click on the arrows to open and close
the folders.
Browser.
This shows the
fi
les in a three-panel
fi
le browser, so that you can easily
navigate through sub-folders.
Open on Start Up
Always.
With this setting, the Catalog will always appear when the OASYS PCI
Editor is opened.
Never.
With this setting, the Catalog will not be opened at startup.
