The five support levels can be selected according to the
external circumstances (e.g. high level for ascents or strong
headwind) or the personal preferences. Please note that a
high level of support also means a higher power consumption
and reduction of the range of the system and the battery.
If you ride faster than 35 km / h, the automatic energy recove
-
ry (tech. Regenaration) is activated. The motor then operates
as a generator and charges the battery again.
The start of the regenertion will be announced by an acoustic
signal. During regeneration, the battery charge indicators of
the display (who the current charge status of the battery dis
-
played)light up alternately and the battery LED lights up once
sequentially in red, orange and green.
Attention! The Biactron system (Q-Power) is not
designed for speeds above 50 km/h. Speeds above
50 km/h can permanently damage the system.
6.1. Sensors and functionality
The pedelec is equipped with a torque sensor in the right
dropout. This sensor accurately measures the tension you
apply on the chain and gives the information about your
power output to the system. The control unit then calculates
the values with which the additional support of the motor is
controlled very sensitive and harmonious.
You can select the support by choosing one of five levels of
support (Boost, High, Medium, Low, Ultra Low). This makes the
system efficient and very economical, saves power consumption
and maximizes coverage.
The control unit regulates the output of the electric motor to
zero as soon as 25 km/h are achieved. From this speed up
-
wards the pedelec works like a conventional bicycle. You must
either pedal or press the Walk / Boost button on the display
holder to obtain engine performance while starting to ride,
since the support is only active while pedaling.
This button also functions as a starting and pushing aid up to 4
km/h. This will help you to accelerate the bike from the start.
It was designed as an aid when starting uphill or in the event
that the bike has to be pushed.
