Cal Kit Operational Check
Verifying a Cal Kit Operational Check Failure
If your test results fail the Cal Kit Operational Check Reflection Tracking limits, verify the
following:
1. Ensure the Test Set is turned on and connected properly to the PNA-X.
2. Check all appropriate PNA-X and Test Set connectors for damage, cleanliness, and proper
torques.
3. Repeat the relevant 1-Port calibrations using another ECal or mechanical standard.
4.
Verify that the PNA-X is operating properly and meeting its published specifications. If the
PNA-X is connected to the Test Set it will fail the Operational Check. Refer to
“Network Analyzer Requirements” on page 3
ECal Confidence Check
The following ECal Confidence Check is a method the verify the accuracy of a 1-Port calibration
performed with mechanical standards or an ECal module. To perform this check, the test port of
the ECal module must connect directly to the Test Port being verified (without adapters).
Procedure
1. Perform an 1-Port Cal of the Test Set port being verified.
2. Connect the ECal Module to the Port being verified. Terminate any remaining ports on the
ECal module.
3. Select the Cal Set to be verified. Select [Cal] > Cal Set... > Cal_File > Apply Cal > Close. If the
"Choose Stimulus Settings..." prompt appears, select Change the active channel’s stimulus... >
OK > Close.
4. Select Response > Cal > More > ECal > ECal Confidence Check.
5. In the ECal Confidence Check window, click Change Measurement and select the test port S-
parameter Apply > OK > Read Module Data.
6. When the "Select ECal Module" prompt appears, select the ECal module you are using and
the ECal Module Memory and Factor ID > OK.
