Qseven Interfaces from HPS
Gigabit Ethernet interface
Qseven Edge connector has one Gigabit Ethernet interface for communication. To support Gigabit Ethernet,
the Cyclone V SoC Qseven SOM uses Gigabit Ethernet PHY “KSZ9031RNXI” which works at 3.3V IO voltage
level.
This PHY is interfaced with Cyclone V HPS using RGMII interface. This PHY also supports Link and Status
LED indication signals to Qseven Edge.
USB Host interface
Qseven Edge connector has four High Speed (HS) USB 2.0 host interface. To support 4 USB hosts, the Cyclone
V SoC Qseven SOM uses 1 to 4 port USB hub “USB2514BI”. This USB hub is interfaced with Cyclone V SoC
using High Speed USB Host PHY interface.
SD/MMC interface
Qseven Edge connector has one 8bit SD/MMC interface using Cyclone V SoC SD/MMC interface along with
Card Detect, Writ Protect pin function.
Note: The same interface is shared with On-SOM Micro SD Slot.
Debug UART interface
As per Qseven Specification, JTAG and UART0 interface pins are multiplexed to same pins for debugging
purpose and so either one only can be used. In Cyclone V SoC Qseven SOM, only debug UART option is
provided at Qseven edge connector. This is supported using Cyclone V HPS UART0 interface.
Data UART interface
Qseven Edge connector also supports data UART interface with CTS & RTS as per Qseven Specification R2.0.
This is supported using Cyclone V HPS UART1 interface.
CAN interface
Qseven Edge connector has one CAN interface. This is supported using Cyclone V HPS CAN1 interface which
can work up to 1 Mbps speed.
I2C interface
Qseven Edge connector has two I2C interface. This is supported using Cyclone V HPS I2C0 & I2C1 interface
which can work up to 400 kbps.
SPI interface
Qseven Edge connector has one SPI interface with two chip selects. This is supported using Cyclone V HPS
SPIM0 interface.
WDOG interface
Qseven Edge connector has Watchdog trigger input and event indicator output. This is supported through
Cyclone V HPS GPIOs.
