3. Inform
the
occupant
of
the
wheelchair
that
the
wheelchair
is
about
to
be
tilted
and
remind
them
to
lean
back.
4. Make
sure
the
occupant
ʹ
s
hands
and
body
are
clear
of
all
pinch
points.
5. Stand
behind
the
wheelchair
and
grasp
both
back
canes
firmly.
6. Pull
up
on
the
trigger
release
levers
to
engage
the
tilt
mechanism.
7. Slowly,
push
down
on
the
back
canes
while
pulling
up
on
the
trigger
release
levers
in
a
continuous
motion.
8. When
the
seat
reaches
the
desired
angle,
slowly
let
go
of
the
trigger
release
levers.

WARNING
DO NOT operate the tilt-in-space if the release handles and cables are not properly
adjusted to ensure that the wheelchair holds the tilted position.
NOTE:
For
this
procedure,
refer
to
1. Loosen
the
jam
nut
(counterclockwise)
on
the
cable.
2. Turn
the
cable
adjuster
until
the
release
handles
engage
the
tilt
mechanism
properly.
3. Retighten
the
jam
nut
(clockwise)
on
the
cable.
4. Tilt
the
wheelchair
to
any
tilt
position.
Make
sure
the
wheelchair
holds
the
position.
NOTE:
If
the
wheelchair
does
not
hold
the
position,
repeat
STEPS
1
‐
4
until
the
wheelchair
is
able
to
hold
the
tilted
position.
