Stabilizer bar for AKTIVLINE
®
top frame, able to be fixed
in position
The stabilizers serve to provide greater stability
through additional fixation of the desired sitting posi-
tion Fixation of the stabilizers is neutralized by re-
leasing the two lower clamp levers Now the two mini
activation handles on the push bar can be activated and
tilting of the seat executed If you now pull the lower
clamp lever again, this additionally ensure fixed set-
ting of the tilt

Locking of the AKTIVLINE
®
mechanism in the pelvic
region via hydraulic thrust absorber
The hydraulic thrust absorber has the task of regulat-
ing the dynamic seat movement of the seat shell The
hydraulic thrust absorber is fitted with two adjusting
screws for adjusting the stroke of the absorber
Proceed as follows for adjustment:
By loosening both adjustment screws (by turning
to the left), the seat shell can be stretched by the
patient's uncontrolled muscle tension and returns
into its original position after tension eases
By tightening the upper adjustment screw (by turn-
ing to the right), this allows stretching of the shell,
but an automatic return to the original position is
no longer possible By slowly releasing the lower
adjustment screw, the seat shell slides back into
its original position
To become familiar with the function of the hydrau-
lic thrust absorber, you should try out the various
setting options

Rubber pads
If a foot rest retraction unit has not been chosen, then
rubber pads are used These are already fitted ex-
works and cannot be adjusted Two rubber pads are
located below the seating unit, these prevent the foot
rest from hitting against the material in the rest phase
after stretching

Pelvic bracket
The mounting of the pelvic brackets on the shell edge
and the shape of the pelvic bracket exert pressure on
both sides in downward/outward direction for the pur-
pose of symmetrical erection of the pelvis
Please observe the following instructions
when using a pelvic bracket
The pelvic bracket pressure pads must support the
spine (both the superior and anterior iliac spine) Make
sure that the pelvic bracket pressure pads do not exert
pressure on the abdomen or other soft tissue regions!
Thread the fastening strap through the buckle on the
pelvic bracket and tighten it until the patient is securely
seated in the prescribed position (pelvis against the
back of the shell) If this makes the patient uncomfort-
able, then loosen the pelvic bracket somewhat Keep
in mind, however, that the shell can only be opened
easily if the pelvis is in constant contact with the pelvic
restraint It may be necessary to gradually increase the
patient's tolerance of the restraint by selecting a lower
starting pressure and then increasing it over time until
the strap is in the correct position
