Please read the operating guidelines carefully
first�
Familiarize yourself with the handling and func-
tions of the product and practice appropriate
handling procedures with the product prior to
initial use� The safety of the user could be at risk
if these guidelines are not followed�

of the wheelchair�

Unattended parking
We would like to expressly point out
that seat shell occupants must be secured
properly at all times by means of suitable re-
straint systems (straps)�
Never leave the user unattended, not even when
the user has been securely strapped in and the
brakes have been set�
In order to avoid the risk of injury to other per-
sons, never leave the wheelchair with its occu-
pant in the care of untrained individuals�

Incorrect handling of packaging
material
Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging
materials out of reach of children�
Caution!
Incorrect center of gravity /
shift in center of gravity
Test the effects of shifts in the center of gravity
on the behavior of the wheelchair on inclines,
declines and lateral slopes, for example, or
while negotiating obstacles only with the reli-
able support of an assistant� It is definitely ad-
visable for inexperienced wheelchair users to
employ an anti-tipping device�
Fundamentally, the seat system should only be
placed on horizontal, flat surfaces� If it should
become necessary to set it down on a slope,
then please make sure that the seat has been
placed in an upright position� There is a risk of
tipping backwards if the occupant is in the su-
pine position on an incline�
Ensure that the seat should only be reclined if the
anti-tipping system is deployed (see chapter "Re-
clining the seat via two gas-pressure springs")�
Make sure that the patient does not lean too far
out of the seat shell when reaching for objects
(behind, to the side or in front of the wheelchair)
because there is a risk of tipping or rolling over
due to the shift in the center of gravity�
The anti-tipping system is a device intended to
prevent the patient from inadvertently tipping
backwards� Under no circumstances is the anti-
tipping system to be used in place of rollers, for
example to transport a person in the wheelchair
with the rear wheels removed�
Do not hang heavy shopping bags or similar on
the push bar or the levers! Risk of tipping�

Negotiating and using stairs
Stairs are only permitted to be
negotiated with the assistance of accompanying
persons� Other facilities for this purpose, such
as ramps or elevators, are to be used wherever
available� If such facilities are not available,
then the assistants must carry the wheelchair
over smaller obstacle�
Carrying techniques are explained in detail in
chapter
10
, it is essential to follow these�
Make sure that the accompanying persons grip
the seat shell wheelchair on firmly mounted or
welded components only�
Do not
lift with the push bar, foot rest, arm rests
or similar parts, this can result in a definite risk
to the user�
Never use escalators with a user in the wheelchair�
Caution!
Regular check of brakes and wheels
Make sure that the clamp levers and
quick-releases on the height- adjustable push
bars are firmly tightened�
Use the brakes to secure the seat shell under-
carriage on uneven surfaces or when transfer-
ring the patient (to a motor vehicle, for example)�
The braking action of the knee lever brake, as
well as the general handling of the wheelchair,
depend on the air pressure in the tires� The
seat shell wheelchair is considerably easier
and safer to maneuver with properly inflated
rear wheels and equal air pressure in both tires
on one axle� Therefore, check the wheels for
proper air pressure before using the wheel-
chair� The correct air pressure value is printed
on the tire and/or listed in the air pressure
table in chapter
9

Please make sure that the Bowden cables for
operating the drum brakes and the trigger for
the gas-pressure springs are not protruding
into the spokes�
Make sure that the wheels have adequate tread
depth�

may be adjusted by yourself�
