Head rest systems
Once the patient has been restrained in the correct
position in the AKTIVLINE
®
with the hip belt, adjust the
head rest The holder for the head rest is built into the
back of the shell on the AKTIVLINE
®
and was already
fitted before delivery
The AKTIVLINE
®
seat system can be fitted with differ-
ent head rest systems of the ALULINE range (straight
or shell-shaped) Both can be adjusted in height and
depth Mount the head rest by loosening the secur-
ing lever at the head rest holder located in the upper
part of the back rest, insert the head rest bracket and
retighten the lever To adjust the height, change the
insertion depth on the oval tube universal holder
To adjust the depth, proceed as follows:
Loosen the clamp lever at the upper oval tubing by
turning the clamp lever counterclockwise
Shift the tube of the head rest bracket in the uni-
versal bracket until the desired position has been
reached
Secure it into position by turning the clamp lever
clockwise until it is no longer possible to slide the
head rest bracket tube
Head support with continuous angle adjustment:
Release the clamp lever on the top end of the support
bar on the head rest to adjust the height Adjust the
inclination of the head rest cushion using the continu-
ous angle on the head rest frame
Tip!
There is a trick to using the clamp lever
if you don't have enough room to turn
the lever the full
360
° Turn the clamp lever as far
as possible in the desired direction until it won't
turn anymore and then pull it straight out This
unlocks the catch mechanism on the clamp lever
and you can now turn back the lever without influ-
encing the previously selected adjustment grade
It is essential to observe the following instructions for
the adjustment of the head rest:
Standard head rests should be adjusted to fit di-
rectly behind the patient's head
Shell-shaped head rests usually sit lower on the
head than standard head rests In other words, the
underside of the shell-shaped head rest should
ideally sit at the base of the head, meaning the
neck region
Standardshaped head rest:
This head rest is fitted with a core aluminum plate
The head rest can be bent individually to the needs
of the patient In case of pronounced asymmetry, the
usual U-shape may sometimes require stronger bend-
ing on one side to counteract the sidewards inclination
of the head The head rest is already supplied curved
ex-works, if you wish to alter the setting, please contact
your local specialist dealer
The shell-shaped head rest virtually positions the
patient's head automatically in the center, due to the
shaped side and centering in the recess, the head au-
tomatically "slips" into this position
Ensure that the side elements are not bent too much
to avoid exerting pressure on the head Leave the pa-
tient enough space of movement to allow him/her to
perceive his/her surroundings adequately and ensure
that the patient's ears are not trapped or squashed
Warning!
The head rest is always to be adjusted
such, that the gap between the head
rest and the back has a maximum breadth
of two fingers There is a risk of strangulation
if the patient's head slips between the head
rest and the back!
Caution!
The gap between the head rest (bottom
edge) and the upper edge of the back
rest must be less than
60
mm (for children)
or
120
mm (for adults) or greater than
250
mm
according to DIN EN
12182

Warning!
The combination of the AKTIVLINE
®
with third party head rests (head rest
systems not manufactured by interco) is not
permitted There is a risk of injury!

The seat shell is attached to the trapezoid-shaped
adapter receptacle on the undercarriage using the
trapezoidal adapter To do this, perform the following
work steps and check secure mounting on the trape-
