29.14.1 NIST

 

Internet Time Service 

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Internet Time Service allows users to 
synchronize computer clocks via the Internet. The time information provided by the service is 
directly traceable to UTC. Table 25-1 contains information about all of the time servers operated by 
NIST. Please note that while NIST makes every effort to ensure that the names of the servers are 
correct, NIST only controls the names of the nist.gov severs. It is probably safest to use the IP 
addresses instead of the domain names.
