What If Your Computer Does Not Work?

The computer does not
operate with a fully
charged battery pack
installed.
The protective function in the battery pack might be activated. Turn off the
computer for 1 minute to reset the protective function, and then turn it back on
again.
Problem

CD-ROM will not operate
and the CD-ROM lamp
does not light.
Verify that:
1. The computer power is turned on.
2. The device driver has been installed correctly. (See page 212.)
3. The compact disc is placed in the tray with the label side up.
The device driver will not
load or cannot be found.
1. Check the system configuration file. See the README.DOS or
README.OS2 file on the CD-ROM Device Driver Diskette.
2. Verify that the device driver and support software have been copied to the
correct directory on the hard disk.
3. If you are using DOS, refer to your DOS documentation and check the
LASTDRIVE statement in your CONFIG.SYS file.
The compact disc cannot
be read.
Verify that:
1. The compact disc is not dirty. Clean it with a CD-ROM cleaner kit.
2. The compact disc is not defective. Try another compact disc.
3. The compact disc is not ISO-9660/High Sierra Standard.
