Using the CD-ROM Drive
Warning:
Do not touch the lens on the
CD-ROM tray.
The computer comes with a 5-inch CD-ROM drive so you can use
compact discs. The CD-ROM drive can also be removed so that the
internal diskette drive or other IBM options can be installed (see
“Installing an Option in the UltraBay” on page 184.)
The following CDs are supported by the computer:
Music CDs
Photo CDs
CD-ROM or CD-ROM XA
Video CDs, CD-I movies, and so on.
To use the CD-ROM:

Turn on the computer.

Push the CD-ROM eject button

on the front of the
computer; then pull out the CD-ROM tray.
Warning:
Hold the compact disc by the
edges. Do not touch the surface
of the compact disc.

Carefully insert your CD-ROM onto the CD-ROM tray;
then push the tray into the computer until it fully closes.
