Note:
1. You can specify 1 - 32 LUNs for each attachment to an IBM iSeries
fibre-channel adapter.
2. Fibre-channel attached LUNs are identified as the storage unit device
type of 1750, on the IBM iSeries host system.
3. You can place the IBM iSeries volumes in the storage unit storage arrays
according to the selected host system attachment type.
4. With a pre-i5/OS Version 5 Release 3 iSeries system, you cannot share
an IBM iSeries volume with more than one fibre-channel system
attachment.
5. With an i5/OS Version 5 Release 3 iSeries system, you can share an
IBM iSeries volume with multiple fibre-channel system attachment. All
fibre-channel adapters must be within the same i5/OS LPAR.
6. The attachment type and the available storage unit storage array
capacity determine the number of volumes that you can create.
You can create 1 - 32 LUNs for a fibre-channel attachment.
Figure 32 shows an example of the display for the hardware service manager
(HSM) auxiliary storage hardware resource detail for the 2766 adapter card. This
same information is displayed for the 2787 adapter card.
