Hardware Maintenance Manual: Netfinity 7600 – Type 8665 Models 1RY, 2RY

 

 

1.

Power-off the server, if it is on.

2.

Disconnect the power cord for each power source from the electrical outlet. 

Attention: 

  The presence of ac standby power might result in damage to the 

hardware unless you disconnect the power cord for each power source from the 
electrical outlet.

3.

Remove the top cover (see “Removing the top cover” on page 62).

4.

Remove all hot-swap hard drives. 

Note:

When you reinstall the hot-swap hard drives after replacing the SCSI 
Backplane, each drive will need to be replaced in the same bay from which 
it was removed.

5.

Remove the shuttle (see “Removing the shuttle” on page 135).

6.

Remove the vertical hot-swap fan assembly.

7.

Grasp the handhold and lift the SCSI backplane assembly with backerplate up 
and out of the server.

8.

To install the SCSI backplane assembly, reverse the above procedure.
