Parallel Port
This is an input / output connector for connecting peripheral devices to a personal computer,
and the printer port is representative of such ports. As opposed to the parallel port (where there
are multiple data lines), there is the serial port (= RS-232C, with 1 data line) which is used as
an input / output connector for connecting to modems, etc.
There are 3 modes for parallel ports, the SPP mode, the EPP mode and the ECP mode (their
names may differ), and the SPP mode is an exclusive output mode which is premised for use
with printers, etc. The EPP mode and ECP mode are bi-directional modes with both input and
output, and it is presumed that the HyperHyde uses the ECP mode. This mode is changed by
changing the BIOS settings in the personal computer.
