If exams are not being returned to your PM system as expected, make sure that the
Disable All PM Exam Output
checkbox is not checked.
•
If an error prevents completed exams from being returned to the PM system, you can
reprocess the exam, and do not need to re-scan the patient. Refer to
Reprocessing an
Exam (page 8-3)
.
PM Interface Status Messages
Store and Retrieve Images on a PACS
If your site uses a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) for storing images, you
may have the optional SmartScan STUDIO PACS software installed on your clinical workstations.
This software enables you to:
•
monitor storage of exam images taken with SmartScan STUDIO on a PACS
•
query for and retrieve exam images from a PACS, where they can be viewed with
TxSTUDIO or other supported viewers on a clinical workstation.
Message Action Possible Cause
The PM plugin is
NOT running.
Check that site
servers and the
scanner controller are
up and operational.
Coordinate with your
PM administrator and
Technical Support to
resolve issue.
The service stopped or has not yet started
(unexpected software error).
The file location is
NOT accessible.
The PM.xml folder cannot be used by the PM
interface because the folder path is invalid,
cannot be found, or Integration Services does
not have authorized access.
The scanner is NOT
reachable.
The connection to the scanner controller
cannot be established, usually because
scanner controller is down or web service is
not running.
The file location is
accessible but no
exam is submitted. The PM.xml folder is accessible, but the
PM.xml file does not exist or no exam entry is
found in the PM.xml file.
PM is requesting X
exam(s). Information only. A number of valid exam entries are found in
the PM.xml; PM system is submitting exams.
