BGAN 9201 User Manual

The M2M page allows you to configure features specially designed for unattended units, e.g.
used for Machine to Machine applications such as SCADA.

Context Watchdog

: If you need the unit to maintain a PDP context at all times, use the Context

Watchdog feature.



To detect problems and auto recover set this field to On.



Configure one or more

Ping IP addresses

that can be pinged by the UT over the satellite

link. For example, DNS servers.



Time between pings

. Set this parameter to control the interval at which the UT will check

the link. Minimum value is 5 minutes.



If the

Ping Required

field is set, the UT will always send the pings at the ping interval. If the

field is not set, the UT will not send pings if data was successfully sent within half the ping
interval. This setting reduces the number of pings sent over the air.
